VSA arts of Pennsylvania
In 2004, Amaryllis Theatre Company, a professional theatre company that includes artists and audiences with and without disabilities, became an affiliate of VSA arts and changed its legal name to VSA arts of Pennsylvania . Amaryllis Theatre Company continues as the theatrical producing arm of VSA arts of Pennsylvania .
As an affiliate of VSA arts, VSA arts of Pennsylvania joins affiliates across the United States and in more than 60 countries around the world working together to create a society where people with disabilities can learn through, participate in and enjoy the arts in the same way as the rest of society.
As it continues to provide and expand its own current programming statewide, VSA arts of Pennsylvania now participates in national and international programs and initiatives to highlight excellence in the arts by artists and students with disabilities; to support educators, parents, teaching artists and cultural organizations in their efforts to make the arts available and equitable for everyone; and to promote talented artists with disabilities in their efforts to develop professional careers in the arts. As an affiliate, VSA arts is also able to provide more numerous resources available through the international organization and its partners.
VSA arts of Pennsylvania also currently serves as the VSA arts Advisory Council representative for the Mid-Atlantic Region serving Pennsylvania; New York; Delaware; New Jersey; Washington, DC; Virginia; West Virginia and Maryland.
VSA arts is an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington , DC .
